Happy New Year!

January 2, 2013

A day late, because that’s how I roll.

Wanna see how I spent my last days of the year?  Be jealous, be very jealous.

Yes, snowboarding for my first time in 4 years!  And who better to go with than the Beekies in Vail?

Of course, I’m currently sitting all propped up in my bed with an ice pack on my neck, and another one on my shoulder.  And lots of Hershey’s kisses very accessible (thank you, Jamie’s secret Santa!).  If only the roomies were awake, I’d have them take a photo.  But alas, it’s a pathetic sight, really.  Yoga, my friend.  Yoga is my friend.

Oh, and a sidenote about this whole ice pack thing:  Jamie says I just make all my aches and pains worse when I try to relieve them with a hot bath.  Heat inflames already sore muscles.  Huh.  But a hot bath is so nice and HOT!  I don’t know if you realize this, Jamie, but it’s January.  In Colorado.  Very cold.  Up in Vail it was in the negatives.  So, I’m currently sitting in my bed, under the covers, with the space heater turned way up, just so I don’t freeze half to death with these ice packs.  It’s in January that I am most acutely aware of my Californian nature.

Bronn4 So, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I changed my blog. Again.  For the 100th time.  I know, I know, I’m indecisive!  But I get bored doing the things I THINK I should be doing.  Forget that.  Blogging is supposed to be fun.  I constantly find myself trying to fit into what everyone else is doing, or how things are properly done.  You know what?  I get bored when I ONLY talk about work.  Or school.  Or try to be like any other successful blogger. I am Kathryn, and no one else. I have so many bizarre random thoughts in a day, and Facebook just cannot contain them all!  So, here is my perfectly simple, half mountains, half girly girl blog.  Love it.  And I like the damask!  I might keep if for a month.  Ha.
